"Draw the Pirate" Wins Crackle Shorts Contest

This is a fun first entry on my new blog layout. I was just notified that my short film “Draw the Pirate” has been selected as the Spring 2008 winner of the Crackle Shorts Contest. The prize includes some do-re-mi, a trip to Los Angeles (wait, I’m already here) and pitch meetings with the folks at Crackle and Columbia Pictures. I saw many of the other films in competition and they were all stellar—a better selection than any film festival I’ve attended.

I really love Crackle. They always have some kind of contest going on to help discover and promote filmmakers and producers. And even though they’re a SONY subsidiary and are promoting SONY content, they do a great job of foregrounding user submitted content (unlike Myspace). There are really great people actively curating the content, and searching the web for great stuff. It’s an honor to be selected.
